dinner lady arms

i've been in singapore for about two weeks now. good to be back here. there's something about this place that comforts me. maybe it's close enough to home. maybe it's the air (?!). i'm sick right now. diarrhea. sorry to have mentioned that. but i really haven't been sick due to this in a looong time. it's been day-two and i've been feeling a lot better today though. now, if only i can be a bit more careful with what i eat.. that is hard to do. the new job is also going well. a lot of people at the plant here still see me working in the previous capacity. but they've been coming around in acknowledging my new role and that has been very positive. i guess it helps alot to have an advantage of being a 'local' among peers here, and not just a representative, a warm body, from the states who don't quite understand the attitude, the work ethics, and the temperament of the locals. now having said that, i kinda miss working back in the states because i think i've been putting too many hours at work here. kinda lazy like that. i'll be going home this weekend for a cousin's wedding. she'll be the fourth among us cousins who's getting married. that leaves me, my sister, and my two brothers, the eldest among the cousins, who are not even close to getting hitched. this should make for a good family reunion then! to tell the truth, i don't think anyone of us gives a rat's ass about it. it seems that everybody else is overly concerned for us. funny. okeh-kokeh. hope you're always be in good health. take care ya!

february stars

hola! hope you're in excellent health as always. i'm good. woke up with a tingling, throbbing headache. at least i got to put in some sleep time.. a long way to get over this jetlag. the trans-pacific flight was smooth. never been a fussy traveller, me thinks, so to be getting the kind of service and comfort during the flight was great. flying business trip is definitely the way to go. oh, someone had updated my travel profile and put me requesting halal meals on the flight from seattle to narita. while that was absolutely a noble thought, the meals i received suck big time! i had more like vegetarian meals during the flight. i could've changed to one of the normal meals, but didn't bother. couldn't be bothered. plus they ran out of the japanese obenta meals, which would be my preference anyways. this is what we call 'takde rezeki'. and apparently some people at the traveldesk like me (i guess) because i was pleasantly surprised to know that i've been booked into one of the better rooms here. bliss i tell you! the room's on the south tower and is a bit smaller than the rooms on the north tower. the interior design points to a more contemporary design (the bathroom design, flat-screen tv, and a bose system) with a touch of elegance (hardwood finish and a lounge sofa). the balcony's facing the pan-pac and the construction site that is the new mrt circle line, not exactly a good sight. but counting my blessings every day nonetheless. i've been debating whether i wanna go to kl for the weekend. i know i wanted to, but this headache's killing me. dunno yet. i might spend the weekend here and head up to kl (or, jb) next weekend. till the next entry.. take care and au revoir!
